Tri Updates

Swim

I had my second swim lesson today. If a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 representing floating on my back and 10 representing swimming freestyle in proper form. I think I went from a 3 to a 7 today. We worked on drills that focused on my hip rotation from side to side, while maintaining balance with my body floating straight. Things are really coming together, and I’m starting to swim longer with less effort. I cannot believe I’m actually thinking about this this, but I think swimming is going to be the easiest part in the tri.

Gab I really wish I could share all the information I have learned so far, but some of those things are so hard to describe, it is just impossible to translate it in writing. We will have to hit the pool next time when I’m in Hong Kong.

Bike
I had been riding outside and I had my first flat tire for the season yesterday.

Run
I’m up to 3.5 miles now

Overall everything is going the way I planned (physically). And I am looking forward to all my events this coming season.

Low Night Shooting

I was pretty exhausted when I got out of work Friday night, but somehow I found myself wandering around downtown snapping pictures of my favorite things. Enjoy!

Minorities

19th March 2007

There was an article in the news today regarding the Rochester Fire Department is promoting its first black female deputy fire chef. I don’t understand why whenever something like this happens; the media have a tendency of putting heavy emphasis on race and gender. In another word, society has doubts on women’s abilities.

Here we are trying to lessen the stereotype of women; however the media indirectly reminds us that women are minority.

Oh remember that saying men and women are equal, hmm

Weekend

19th March 2007

After 8 grueling hours of bartending/bar backing on St Patrick’s Day, I’m just glad that the biggest drinking day of the year is finally over. My lower back is completely shot from the 50+ trays of glasses that I had washed. I cannot believe I’m saying this but I think I’m all Guinness out for awhile.
