I never understand Christmas in the US. I mean for weeks and months, everyone (well almost everyone) gotten all hype up with shopping and parties. But on the actual Christmas day, the entire city is quiet like a ghost town to the point that it feels kinda depressing.
I had an interesting conversation with a postal worker yesterday, when I was trying to ship a package to Hong Kong. Mr. Postal insisted that Hong Kong is no longer a country of its own, and I really should crossed out the word Hong Kong and rewritten it to China instead.
First I will give him credit for knowing Hong Kong is no longer part of Britain, but what he didn’t realize is that even though Hong Kong is own by China; they still have their own country code.
So I asked him in a joking manner, if this situation taken place back in 1996 or pior, should the country name be England instead of Hong Kong then?
“Sir, trust me just enter 852 into your computer, and you will see Hong Kong listed in your system.”

Yesterday I got a message from an old friend of mine. She found out she has cancer, and she will have to start her radiation and chemo treatment next week. This morning I also found out a colleague of mine also has cancer.
It really makes me wonder, are these signs of early detection because of our advance medical technology, or are human just getting more vulnerable.
Sitting at my desk feeling completely lost and unmotivated
Sigh…. I cannot believe my 4 day weekend is over already.
