A year ago my mom was diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer. My whole family was devastated when her doctor told us that the type of cancer she has is not curable.
Over the past twelve months, I have witnessed her incredible will power to fight and live. She has truly amazed me. Relying on the feeding machine, she brought her weight from under 100 lbs to 135 lbs and is now able to consume all her calories through normal food.
This year I will run the Chicago Marathon with Team Livestrong. I am hoping through this event I can raise awareness on both this super evil disease and how important the role of a non-profit organization plays in a cancer patient’s life.

For months I had been living a life where I weren’t exactly in control. Often times I would take on tasks just to please my mom, but am I truly happy of what and where I am now? No.
Looking back in 2005 when I quitted smoking and started running, that’s when I was at my happiest. Because for the first in my life I was in control, I was able to resist and conquered the most difficult addiction in the world. I felt like anything is possible, which eventually lead me to the finish line at Lake Placid.
Anyway I want to regain that self control and self discipline; therefore I am announcing my major race of 2009. The Chicago Marathon!!
I am looking forward to begin my structure training life style.
